You've been cooped up all winter long. It's time to get outside and
enjoy the spring flowers in bloom. Spend the day in Metamora where
you'll enjoy all that Metamora has to offer and take in some of that
wonderful springtime scenery. |

Easter Egg Hunt with Easter Bunny
|
Come to Metamora on March 22
for an exciting day of fun for kids under 10. Only in Metamora will
you find the Easter Bunny.
Different hunts will be for different age groups. Be at the Gazebo
between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. and get your child's pictures taken with the
Easter Bunny for only $5.00. At 1:00 p.m. the Easter egg hunts will
begin. There will be nine (9) Easter baskets given out. |

May 4, Whitewater Canal
Trail Walk The Locks. Join us at 2 p.m. for guided hiking and biking
tours. 2.5 miles of trail along the Whitewater Canal. For more

Special May Train Runs -
This is a special running of our Connersville to Metamora train that departs
on every Thursday and Friday in the month of May. The train departs
Connersville at 10:00am. The price is the same as our Connersville to
Metamora train service. NOTE: Special Rates for School Groups by advance

with a western twist. Join the Delaware Rangers as they protect the Metamora
bound train. Come and see
Bandits, Marshals, Robber Barons, Fancy and some Not So Fancy Women as you roll through the

Memorial Day Special Ceremonies

May 25, 2 p.m Walking Bridge - Come join us at a ceremony
that has been held
annually since the Civil War. Held on the car bridge and Whitewater
Canal, this special ceremony includes flowers tossed into the canal, along with singing to honor and
remember the past and present soldiers. |

big Strawberry tent in the middle of town where you can enjoy an early
summer treat. Sweet strawberry shortcake loaded with yummy
strawberries and topped with whip cream or ice

Celebrate 1838
|
June 7 - 8, Metamora's third annual Celebrate 1838
Days. Step back to 1838 for a fun and educational experience.
You'll see merchants in period clothing as well as Craftsmen and women while
demonstrating tinsmith, spinning and weaving, and rag doll making. Hoosier
Rhymes by Riley and banjo player will be on the boat on both Sat and Sun.
Forget-Me-Not historic dance group will be performing in the gazebo at 2 PM

Red Hat Society Day
|
June 14, Metamora's annual Red Hat Society
Day. If you're a Red Hat Lady come dressed in red and join your fellow
Red Hat friends on this special day designated just for you. Not only
can you enjoy all that Metamora normally has to offer but we have brought in
some exceptional music groups that will be performing around town.
Several shops and restaurants will be offering discounts to our Red Hat friends
dressed in red. Raffle, Trophy, carriage rides and more! Opening
ceremonies will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by the raffle and hat contest at
11:00 a.m. at the Fatted Calf. Sign up your

4th of July
Celebration
|
Spend July 4th in Metamora.
Nowhere else on July 4th can you step back in time and shop in historical
buildings, ride a canal boat, ride a train and watch the stone-ground
cornmeal or flour being made at the gristmill as well as enjoy a day and
evening of fun filled events. The Metamora Annual Parade begins at
6 p.m. This is an old fashioned parade unlike your typical parade. Who
knows what or who will be in it but it is sure to delight the young and old.
After the parade go to the walking bridge for the 2nd annual Ducky Derby
Race. Make sure you purchase your duck at C.J.'s and see if you can
win the grand prize! Ducks will be released into the canal after the parade
is over.
The first one to make it down the canal and cross the bridge at Columbia
Street wins! Ducks cost $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. Games, activities and prizes for the kids. Sponsored by the
Merchants Association of Metamora. Grab your lawn chair and head to the
firehouse for a chicken Dinner and the the annual Fireworks Show at dusk. |

Payroll. While along the line a relentless group of Confederate soldiers,
simply known as Morgan's Raiders, plan and wait.

Model T Ford Centennial Days
|
July 23, 24 and 25, Come see all the
wonderful Model T cars! There will be over 80 cars in Metamora on the 23rd,
80 on the 24th and over 100 on the 25!
On each of the three days, the parade of
Model-T's will arrive in Metamora about 10:30 or 11:00 a.m., parade down
Pennington Road and Main Street, then cross the drive-across bridge and down
Lover's Lane to park as a group in the field by the Music Fest Stage. The
participants will then be in town for as long as they want, likely 2-3 hours
so don't miss out on seeing some spectacular cars! The Centennial
celebration has cars coming from all over the US and Canada, and some from
as far away as New Zealand. |

Company # 75 will be making a special Wild West Themed Train to Dinner
excursion from Historic Downtown Metamora to the Laurel Hotel Restaurant.
Entertainment to be provided by the Delaware Rangers. The train will
depart at 6PM from Metamora. Fares to be determined and includes the round
trip train ride, the meal, tax and tip. A printable menu is available at the

Aug 29, 30, 31 Flagg Coal #75 is coming back to
town for two weekends this year! If you were here last year you know this is an exciting event.
The Whitewater Valley Railroad will be hosting
Flagg Coal #
75. # 75 is a 40 ton saddle tank locomotive built by the Vulcan Iron
Works in 1930. Six mile trips will be run throughout the day. The fares are
$16 for adults and $8 for children ages 2-12. Each trip will last about one
hour.

days of music and entertainment for the entire family. A full schedule
of music groups on the Lovers Lane Stage and music can also be

26th Annual Tree Lighting

Nov 22, - Join us in the annual celebration of the start
of the Holiday Season. The tree lighting event will take place at the
Gazebo at 6:30. Gather around the bond fire as you listen to live
holiday music provided by our own "Baggy Bottom Boys", sing-a-longs, enjoy
the Christmas Story and warm up with free hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies
and at the right moment we will light up the tree.

Most shops and attractions open May
through the last day of the Christmas Walk in December. A few shops are open
year round. Hour of business vary from
business to business. Some shops are open Tuesday - Thursday. More
shops are open Friday - Sunday. The state facilities are open Wed -
Sun. Because each shop is individually
owned there is no way to give a sure answer to how many or who will be open on any
given day.
